We love Ko Olina Beach Villas so much that we had to come back. This time around we decided to rent from an owner and wasn't disappointed. There were minor problems but they were quickly resolved. Whole process was easy and e-mails were answered quickly. Never a need for us to give them a call. Room was spacious and was a delight to come back to after a day of sightseeing and activities. Views were amazing. Would I recommend to others? Most definitely.
The views of both of the main lanai's are certainly impressive. While you are in the Ocean, not the Beach Tower, that does not affect your view of the ocean in the slightest. The condo is quite large and with the pocket lanai doors, even larger. The other guests staying at Ko Olina Beach Villas were respectful and relatively quiet compared to most large resorts.
My family and I had the best vacation ever last month in Hawaii. It was our 1st time in Hawaii and the condo we stayed in was amazing. The view of the lanais where absolutely breath taking, and the way the condo was decorated was beautiful. It had the most fabulous kitchen and plenty of room for the whole family. We actually saw whales right off our lanais while eating lunch. I have 2 teenage sons and they still can't stop talking about this trip. Joan and Ron are wonderful. They are very helpful and make you feel so welcomed. They emailed us before our trip with instructions of how to find local grocery stores and great places to eat. Ron even stopped by twice and gave ideas for some great restaurants and places to see. We loved eating at" Chuck's Steak House" right off the water with beautiful views, and you could walk there on the board walk. The pools are very nice, and the salt water lagoon was great for snorkeling. It was the vacation of a lifetime and we hope some day to return and enjoy this amazing condo again!
We rented this condo for 7 days with our family of six, four kids from ages 9-16. My children had been asking to go to Hawaii for years and we wanted to make it special. We found this condo and called Joan for further details. Joan was awesome on the phone and gave us all kinds of details on the area and advice on things to do and how to best plan our trip. When we arrived the condo and the resort were everything we could have hoped for. The staff at the resort were very helpful in getting us settled. The condo was great and the three balconies made the condo feel very open and gave you wonderful views of the entire area. I loved having the gym to workout in with the option of running along the beach path. The pools were great and allowed a place for the kids to have fun and be loud while having a separate pool for those that wanted to enjoy a quiet area. The coves allowed us to try our hands at snorkeling or playing on the beach. While this resort is a little ways away from some of the tourist attractions, traveling back and forth was easy and allowed us to see all of the island. With four kids, none of them ever complained about travel time. There was also easy access to Costco and Target for all of our needs. I would recommend this condo to all of my friends who are looking to go to Oahu. Perfect for all different types of groups and ages, something for everyone! Joan and Ron are great to work with and very accommodating! Thanks for a trip we will always remember and talk about for the rest of our lives!
We booked this suite for 8 days and it was one of our best vacations. The suite did not disappoint and was as beautiful in person, if not better than the photos. We brought our son (4 months old) for his first family vacation and the condo was spacious enough for myself, son and hubby to stay on one side of the condo, and a few of our family members on the other side, never felt like we were getting in each other's way. The decor was very nice and the condo was well equipped with everything we needed to have a relaxing vacation (comfy furniture, large kitchen with all appliances and cooking tools & laundry). The property too was amazing, perfect for small children. There was also a large pool area just for quiet time with hot tubs. The close proximity of the lagoons were one of the best parts of our trip. There are 4 of them, all within minutes of each other, accessible by large walking/running path which takes you from lagoon to lagoon. Location wise, we couldn't have found a better spot. Ko Olina was close enough to Waikiki (30 mins drive) but far away enough to have a hustle-free and quiet vacation. We loved that there was a Costco and Target (amongst other stores) within a 5 minute drive. Within walking distance were a few great restaurants too (Roy's and MonkeyPod). Overall, we would highly..highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to enjoy a great vacation. Ron and Joan were fantastic too, very nice people and great to deal with. We will be booking again for sure! Julie van Westen
I booked our stay at the Ko Olina Beach Villas after extensive research. My hard work paid off. This condo is ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR! It is even better than the pictures depict. Words cannot describe how beautiful the Ko Olina resort area is. We rented a car and traveled extensively throughout the island. In my opinion, this area is THE BEST area to stay on Oahu. You are away from the craziness of Waikiki and in a beautiful, serene, resort like setting. This was our first time renting through a private party, and the process was smooth from start to finish. Joan answered all of our initial questions promptly via phone and email. Upon our arrival, Ron was there to greet us. He escorted us to the villa and showed us how everything worked, From the moment I walked through the door, I knew we had made the right decision. The villa was perfect for our family of 4. The pictures depicted in the listing are exactly what you get. Villa is very clean and quiet. While the complex was busy with families on Spring Break, we never heard another family while inside the villa. We loved opening up the lanai's and eating breakfast with a spectacular view. All the supplies you need are provided in the kitchen as well as beach chairs, beach towels, laundry soap, etc. Grounds are immaculately maintained and stunningly beautiful. There is a 1.5 mile paved walking trail that connects the Ko Olina Beach Villas with three other bordering resorts. The trail runs along the water and is a great place for a morning run/walk or at night for a sunset stroll. We felt very safe anywhere in this four resort area and allowed our two teens to explore a bit on their own as well. The two pool areas as well as the beach along any one of the lagoons is a fabulous place to soak up the sun and swim. We rented paddleboards one afternoon on the lagoon. Kids also enjoyed walking down to the other resorts to check things out. Go in Disney to see the characters, go in the lobby of the JW Marriott to see the manta rays and the sharks. Walk down to the Paradise Cove lagoon. We waded with sea turtles three mornings at that site. Lots of restaurants and stores nearby. We enjoyed Monkeypod which is within the resort community. Great pizza! Within a 10 minute drive, you can also find grocery stores like Costco, Safeway and Target as well as chain restaurants. I am so happy we rented this villa. It exceeded all my expectations! I would go back in a heartbeat!
The condo is certainly top of the line. For the size of the unit there is only sitting for three people comfortably in the living room(the two side chairs are not comfortable). The unit is not very private. The south facing lanai is looking right into units across from the pool. You can look right into other units and they can look into this unit. The main lagoon pool was closed at the time of our stay. We were very disappointed because it looked like a very nice pool. There was jack-hammering going on which made it very noisy to sit around that area to sun-bathe. We also like it cool at night to sleep(66) and the unit would not cool down. We were not going to open the slider in the bedroom because then the other units could see you sleeping in the morning. Privacy issue.
Owner Response
Dear Couple from Michigan, We welcome and appreciate your perspective, and deeply care about your renter experience. We do our very best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. That said, the pool situation was most certainly an inconvenience for all concerned, and unfortunately outside our control both in timing and noise. We sincerely thank you for your tolerance and patience. Fortunately it is re-opening this week. Regarding privacy concerns, we are sorry that the resort design failed to satisfy your preferences. Guests comments have repeatedly praised our unit in particular for being part of a larger resort community, while still offering privacy, wrap-around lanais, panoramic ocean views and openness between indoor and outdoor spaces.
My husband and 2 boys (ages 9 and 5) have stayed at the Ko'Olina for the past 3 years. When we started to research condos for this vacation we were saddened to find that the condos we have rented before were already booked, so that's when we found Joan and this condo. All I can say is WOW!!!! This condo is incredible! The east and west lanais just put this condo over the top. We were able to open them both up and just felt like we were living outside in Hawaii. The views were fantastic! Loved having my coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner out on the lanai! Saw whales too which is always a bonus! We love the beach villas in general. We wouldn't stay anywhere else on Oahu. Unfortunately the lagoon pool was closed during our stay, but Joan let us know as soon as she found out and offered a credit because of that. In the past we have spent a lot of time there, but the lap pool was great and the kids still had a blast. The beach at Ko'olina is perfect for our kids and we loved spending time there. The snorkeling there is actually pretty good...saw some pretty interesting fish there! Ron was also great to work with. Met us as soon as we arrived even though it was late in the evening, showed up to our room and made sure we knew to call him if we needed anything. I would recommend this condo to anyone, you won't be disappointed! We had an amazing stay there!!
Let me say first that I do not do ANYTHING casually, certainly not vacationing for thousands of dollars. I do my research, and if I liked this place, it must be good!! Other than that, there is nothing more to add to the other glowing reviews: 5 star unit, 5 star resort, 6 star beach, 5 star location, 5 star parking, 5 star everything!! Read the other reviews, then BOOK THIS UNIT! Owners are VERY good with customer service from pre to during to post stay!! Tip: Splurge one time and eat at the golf course Roy's...stellar!! (But expensive) For other days, just go to the plate lunch place across the way, or great deli at ABC. Food at nearby Disney worth a try once, but not as great as the hype. Now I've got to go buy a lottery ticket, so I can buy one of these condos for myself...
While staying at the Marriott at Ko Olina last year, we wondered what the Beach Villas were all about! From the moment I contacted the homeowner about renting a condo, I had an immediate sense of "home". He patiently guided me thru the reservation process, answering questions, as they arose, in a timely manner. When we arrived at the Beach Villas, the homeowner was waiting for us with keys, and a warm welcome. He showed us how everything "worked"...from keys for the elevator, to the various appliances in the condo, and the pocket lanai doors which opened to beautiful views of the lagoons and pools. The condo is all that was promised. It is comfortable, well-equipped, and clean. We enjoyed dining on the east lanai, and sipping wine while watching the sunset on the west lanai. We both especially appreciated the excellent service provided by the homeowner, He was only a phone call away when we had any questions about the condo. He is an "extra added value" to the rental. Do we recommend this condo? Yes! In fact we are returning next summer for another stay, and are bringing the rest of our family with us.
We have just returned from a most enjoyable stay at Ko Olina Beach Villas. Joan and Ron were very welcoming and helpful with anything we might need. The suite is fabulous - even better than described! Being at the end of the building gave us a feeling of complete independence, not surrounded by other suites. The layout of 0712 allows for a great deal of privacy, as the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the main living area. We had two other families staying in the resort at the same time and they were both totally jealous of our digs. The lanais on opposite sides of the building are great. Fantastic views, and they open the place up to make it seem much bigger than it already is. The resort is perfect for families with younger children. The lagoons offer very safe swimming and the snorkelling is OK. Older teenagers might find it a bit boring; there weren't many other teens there during our stay and there is no boogie boarding in the direct vicinity. Our girls had a great day of surfing at Nimitz beach and a trip to Yokohama Beach is a must. All in all, a beautiful spot and one we would recommend to anyone interested in the area.
We had the priviledge of staying in this beautiful condo for 10 days over Thanksgiving week, and we could not have been more pleased with our choice. Our flight into Honolulu was delayed, so we arrived at the condo very late, but Ron was right there waiting for us, warm and welcoming, even though it was close to midnight. (One of the reasons we picked this unit over others was because of the friendly conversation I had with Joan over the phone - once I spoke with her, I didn't want to deal with anybody else). The advantage to arriving so late was that we awoke to a wonderful "surprise" - the awesome views from both sides of this beautiful condo. The Beach Villas property itself is wonderful - amazing landscaping, clean, spacious pools, koi ponds...it really was breathtaking! On the first day, two of my sons, completely independent of the other, just sighed, and said "This place is so nice!" The unit itself is as other reviews have said - perfect, beautiful, clean, first class all the way! Ko Olina is beautiful - no matter where we went on the island, I couldn't wait to get back to Ko Olina. The lagoons were magnificent! After hitting Target and Costco for supplies the first morning, we snorkeled in the lagoon the first afternoon we were there, and saw a sea turtle right away! We walked the path every day that connects the Ko Olina lagoons, and our lagoon was the best - by far the least crowded. There is a great little market right across from the Disney hotel, with almost anything you could need, and they are open until 11:00pm. During the time we were there, we were not able to see the actual sunset from our unit, as it was blocked by the Beach Tower, but we could not have cared less - if we were at the condo at sunset, we went to the lagoon, and stayed until dark, then hit the hot tub, and back to the unit for card games. We loved the table on the lanai - ate every meal there, and played many games on it - it really worked well for us. Joan gave us a late check out time, and we sat at that table until the very last minute! I would love to visit another Hawaiian island, but it would be hard to plan a return trip to Hawaii and not want to stay in this unit. Thank you Joan and Ron!
Second year we have stayed at Joan and Ron's condo. It really has all the amenities you could want in a vacation retreat. Right on the beach. Quiet pool for relaxing. A lot of space for us (3 guys celebrating 2 of our 40th's). It has amazing views from every window. Loved that the window doors on both sides of the main room open to offer an amazing cross breeze to the entire condo. The BOSE stereo was a nice addition this year to plug an iPod right in and play music quick. Loved that we could explore the entire island and come back and just park in the unit's assigned space. Having the washer / dryer helped us keep baggage to a minimum. Also there was a glitch with the disposal but Ron came over same day and had it working again. Such nice people! Can't recommend this condo highly enough.
Absolutely loved the condo and resort - it was so peaceful and inviting to come and go from as we explored Oahu. The location was convenient, located about 30 mins west of Honolulu, loved returning every evening to the peaceful Ko Olina Resort Villas. The gated-community of Ko Olina was paradise, and never crowded, even after the Disney Resort next door opened, during our stay. The accomodation is 5-star and immaculate. Furnishings were beautiful and well-appointed, including very comfortable beds with spa-like bathrooms. Great floor plan with the kitchen and living area separating the two master suites. Being able to open the sliding glass walls to the lanais on both sides of the living/kitchen area had to be one of my favorite features. Incredible views from all lanais - from overlooking the pools and lagoons to picture perfect sunsets every evening. The owners, Joan and Ron were the best! Pride of ownership was evident in everything: from the perfect accomodation to the impeccable service. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Mahalo Joan and Ron!
The condo was everything we had hoped for and more. The amenities of both the condo and resort were 5 star. The condo is comfortably furnished and equipped for an extended stay. There is a true "spa" like vibe to the rooms and bathrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked enabling us to eat in on several occasions. The whole unit was spotlessly clean and everything in good operating condition. The resort itself was a dream. The pools and lagoon were uncrowded and immaculately clean. There were no loud groups and all the residents/guests were considerate of everyone staying there. The garden areas were beautifully maintained. The location was also superb. A short drive from the airport, Ko Olina is well placed to visit all of Oahu. We made day trips to all corners of the island and were back in time for an afternoon swim and cocktails on the lanai! There is a commercial/retail center located only 5 minutes away that we frequented for groceries and dining. We also used the local market located onsite which had almost everything you could need. Joan and Ron were very helpful in their recommendations for activities and restaurants. We took their advice on a snorkeling cruise from the marina and had a trip highlight-swimming with dolphins, turtles and tropical fish. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and it would be the only place we would consider on a return visit to Oahu.
Our vacation, the last two weeks of Apri/2011 was everything and more than we expected. We vacation with another couple, somewhere different every year. We have all fallen in love with Hawaii. When you combine the warmth of the people and the weather, with the beauty of this condo, I can't imagine having anything but a good time. This unit does not disappoint. It is beautifull. Loved the layout, the views, easy parking, security and design. Owners, Joan and Ron were easy and professional in their dealings. The resort has a quiet pool and another more suitable for children. Great idea! 2 hot tubs. Grounds are immaculate and beautifully lush with greenery. Beach is super clean and easily accessed. Great golf across the street. Downside - We had to leave!
We stayed here in January 2011. What a fabulous vacation! The kitchen is a chef's dream. The views are spectacular. The bed as comfortable as our own. And the bath is super! We greatly enjoyed the luxury and the beauty of Ko'Olina. Such a romantic getaway! Our only complaint was that our week went too quickly and we were packing for home far too soon. This a place we could happily live for a month or more and not miss the comforts of 'home sweet home.' Thank you so much for your hospitality!
Just came back from staying at the Ko Olina resort. We stayed there with our two young children. This was our first time in Ko Olina. All I can say is WOW!!! Joan was a great resource person and both the condo and the resort were absolutely amazing. This is a true 5 star holiday - I just hope that it stays this way once the large influx of Disney visitors arrive. We can`t wait to come back and hope to visit again next fall. Thanks Joan!
My family (me, my wife and my two boys - ages 2 and 3) stayed in this condo just a month ago. The condo is really top notch!! The kitchen is fantastic. The entertainment system is great. Bedrooms and bathrooms...awesome. And the condo is very clean and stylishly furnished. But the best thing about this condo is the fact that there are 2 lanai's on opposite ends of the main living area. Having the ability to open up the lanais on both ends just gives this condo a completely unique and open feel to it...especially when the breeze blows through. And speaking of the lanais, we really enjoyed the dining lanai. Having breakfast with my family every morning on the lanai while enjoying the ocean views and morning air is probably the thing that i'll remember most about this trip. Regarding the rest of the property..the pools and lagoons are awesome. My boys really had a blast swimming in both. And the resort wasn't crowded at all when we were there (in fact, it was borderline empty), so it was never a problem finding a pool chair, bbq, or a spot on the beach. Also, if you need to buy anything there is a main city, 5 minutes away with a costco/target/safeway/various restaurants/etc. As far as downsides (for lack a better of word), renters should be aware that the Ocean Tower (where this rental is) is set back from the ocean/lagoon, and that the Beach Tower somewhat obstructs your view of the ocean from both lanais. Unfortunately for us, while we were there, the Beach Tower directly blocked every sunset. Also, from the lanai at the other end of the living area, the direct view (if you look straight out) is of the new disney resort which is under construction (note: we did not hear any construction noise). Having said that, you do have ocean views from all lanais (just realize its views of the ocean and other stuff, includ bldgs). Lastly, there are two huge, brown plots of land in view from each lanai...not sure what is planned there, but if it is any significant type of large scale construction, i think "ocean views" would become a stretch for all condos in the Ocean Tower. But as of last month, it is just empty land and it does not impede any of the ocean views. But all in all, this is a GREAT condo to rent. The view issues mentioned above are just things to be aware of. It did not impact our enjoyment of this condo at all. I would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to ko olina.
Awesome condo... the pictures don't do it justice... The kitchen is truly luxurious and fully stocked with everything you might need so making meals 'in' was an enjoyable experience... Not to mention the dining table on the outside deck where we ate dinners - that made it extra cool... We shopped at a nearby CostCo at the start of our trip to stock up for the week which worked out great... There's even a built in wine refrigerator... Also, opening the sliding windows / doors gave a truly open air experience to the whole space... That was one of our favorite features of the condo. The fitness room is great with a full assortment of cardio machines, dumbbells (up to 75 lbs!) and weight machines if you want to get a workout in... the pools are awesome with a large pool (great for laps) and 3(!) hot tubs and a lounging pool... plenty of outdoor space for relaxing... This property is great for families or friends who are hanging out... It's very quiet and if there's noise (children) it's easy to find quiet space (one of the pools is a 'quiet' pool)... Noise though is minimal - there was some construction next door but its sounds were not invasive and the building looks to be close to completion... Overall, Beach Villas is a very peaceful, well maintained place... The 4 lagoons behind it also give a beach experience right outside your back door... Even though Beach Villas is 18 mi from Honolulu, we found Oahu very drivable (quick trips to Pearl Harbor / North Shore beaches / shopping in Waikiki) with most things being about a 25-35 minute drive.. Staying out in Ko Olina, we were able to 'get away' from the touristy places and relax at the end of the day and in the mornings... Working with Joan Parsons was great - she's very nice and made sure we were happy at arrival... She even accommodated us with extra hours on the last day of our stay since our flights were in the evening... That really made our last day great so we didn't have to store luggage and could use the pools pretty much right up to the time of our departure... I felt that Joan really went the extra mile for us! This was truly a 5 star experience!
We just returned from our vacation -- this condo is absolutely beautiful. The views are spectacular -- everything is new, updated, beautiful cross breaze from the two lanais -- the pools are quiet, clean, the grounds are immaculate. We had a wonderful time. I would HIGHLY recommend this condo to anyone. Dealing with Joan was effortless. She was so nice!!! Would rent this out again in a heartbeat and will tell our friends and family. Thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us!!
I've stayed in Ko Olina before, but this Villa made it an extra special vacation for my family with 3 kids. If you've never been here, Ko Olina is uniquely beautiful on the more quiet west side of the island - known for the 4 sand/beach lagoons and best sunsets. My 3 kids (ages 4-9) especially enjoyed the meandering lagoon pool (depth 3' - 5') and attached pebble beach toddler/kid pool (depth 1' - 2') everyday. Also, beach lagoon #2 is just outside the property's private gate, and the sun, sand and water are fantastic - kids enjoyed making sand castles and beginner snorkeling, there are some very small fish to see. This villa is beatifully decorated and makes a great first impression - just see the pics. Wireless network was fast and seamless. The compact yet full kitchen (top notch appliances) has everything we needed and we prepared most of our meals here - eating outside on the balcony/lanai which the kids really enjoyed. Poolside bbq's are great. The newer Costco and Target and city of Kapolei are just a few miles away. The fitness center had up to date equipment, was not busy (always <2 other people working out), the treadmills have the little personal tv's on them, had the basic weight machines and some free weights. The whole experience from the convenient parking to the beautiful grounds to the villa spoiled us, we loved it. If Waikiki is too loud and busy for you, you'll like Ko Olina. If the Ko Olina Marriott timeshares are beautiful but too busy for you, you'll love the Villas. We also noticed this Villa is especially nice as it's higher up and the views are terrific and the lanai is on the shade side most of the day so the lanai is a very comfortable place to relax. We've had great and memorable days!
We want you to know that your villa was the BEST! We had a great time and everything at Ko Olina was first rate. The Concierge desk was extremely helpful and friendly. It truly was wonderful. I have already recommended this villa to all my coworkers and friends. The owner was extremely helpful with all my questions. The fitness room was first rate also. Excellent vacation!!!
We just returned from a week in paradise. The accomodations were everything we could have hoped for and more...We loved how the room opened up to the lanais for a breezy, outdoor feeling. The staff is fantastic and the owner incredibly helpful and warm. We would highly recommend this resort !
I came with my family from England to Hawaii and this condo and the Ko'Olina resort exceeded all my expectations. It was beautifully furnished and well equipped. I loved the ocean views from all the lanais and the breezy and bright unit with the pocket doors wide open. We would definitely return if we come back to Oahu. The beaches and lagoons are gorgeous. 5 star all the way.
This unit within Beach Villas is absolutely first rate! This floor plan has sliding walls that fully open at both ends, and has ocean views from each end! The furnishings are great. The fold-out sleeper sofa was the best we've ever had for comfort. Morning coffee on the lanai, looking out at the ocean while overlooking the Beach Villas pool and lagoon, is hard to beat! This is truly a luxury unit with gorgeous views. Ko'Olina resort area has very nice man-made ocean lagoons with palapas available for shade - great area for calm water swimming, snorkeling and just soaking. The oceanfront boardwalk provides access to adjacent resorts/ restaurants and marina. Ko'Olina resort area will be getting more restaurants & shops soon (under construction) which will be a welcome addition. This is undoubtedly this nicest resort area of Oahu. The only downside is that you have to drive to Kapolei (2 miles) to buy groceries, rent videos, and do other shopping. If you want the crowds, activities, shopping, hustle, bustle and frenetic scene of Waikiki, this is not your resort, but if you want relaxation, a beautiful setting, luxury accommodations, sunsets over the ocean, golfing, boating, stroll on the boardwalk, then this is your ideal destination.
